Mission Center

The Leawood Mission center exists to:

• Care for the felt needs of our church members and our greater community.
• Provide ministry opportunities for church members to become personally involved in meeting the needs of the people in our community.
• Present a Christian witness to our community both in lifestyle and message.
• Reach people, lead them to Christ, and bring them into the fellowship of the church where they can be disciple and become faithful followers of Jesus Christ.

The Mission Center seeks to meet these needs through:

• Spiritual counseling
• Food pantry
• Clothing Closet
• Providing School supplies before the school year begins
• Offering a Toy store for people to provide Christmas presents for their children
• Prayer ministry

Leawood seeks to fulfill the great commission and one way we now have the opportunity to reach many different ethnic groups right here in our neighborhood. The Lord has sent the world to us. We have the privilege to have two ethnic congregations meeting here:

River Nile Church

The River Nile Church has been meeting at Leawood for about seven years. This congregation is made up of Sudanese who live in the Memphis area. They seek to reach the Sudanese and other African Christians as well as share the gospel to the all Arabic speaking groups in this area.

Iglesia El Encuentro

This is a church plant that is reaching the Hispanic population here in Memphis. The Latino population is growing rapidly in the Memphis area and there is a great need to reach out this group of people.
